Greetings! Following a wonderful Abide Project Convention in Chicagoland this past summer, we are hoping more groups can gather regionally throughout the year for fellowship and encouragement. Particularly, we hope to help one another better understand where churches are as we live into the decisions of Synods 2022 & 2023 regarding human sexuality. We also plan to share together what you see as next steps.
The next regional gathering is scheduled for Tuesday, January 16, 2024, from 6:00-9:30p CST at First CRC in Sheldon, Iowa. Dinner will be available starting at 5:00p. Feel free to join for all or part of the evening.
All those in agreement with the CRCNA’s position on human sexuality (as confirmed by Synods 2022 & 2023) please join us in Sheldon for the evening. We will be having a meal following by some guided discussion, encouragement, and prayer. Â
COST IS $10/person (paid at event check in)
Please register each individual separately.
There will be a registration limit, so please sign up early. Registration deadline will be the end of the day on Friday, January 12, 2024.
Please contact abideprojectorg@gmail.com with any questions
This sounds like the sort of meeting being held by regional classes. How can this event be distinguished from official ecclesiastical meetings? Isn’t Abide acting like a somewhat secretive, quasi denomination? I’m troubled that the conversation excludes people who question the denominational position. Is that healthy? It sounds like marginalization to me.
