Those quotations from Wickham that you included are so powerful.

Lora Copley's two-part message is excellent. But, she quoted Matt.12;25 and referenced footnote 11, but the footnote did not reference the statement of Jesus which I believe is the most relevant in the opposition to "Gravamen-as-exception". Jesus said, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand." (NIV, Holy Bible (p. 2660). Zondervan. Kindle Edition.)

How can we not agree when the Bible states homosexual sex is a sin and therefore a salvation issue. As Jesus says, if the CRC is divided on such a salvation/biblical issue it "will he ruined" and "will not stand". "Better together" is a death sentence for the CRC.

Thanks brothers for engaging with this piece. And Ronald, for highlighting an important truth.

It’s true. When one body has two different “stories” to walk by--concerning the fundamentals

of sin and repentance,

of Scripture and identity,

of love and judgment--

that one body just can’t move in two opposite directions at once.
